Reading Points
Students must earn 200 reading points each grading period. Reading points must be completed one week before the end of the grading period. Projects will be graded according to quality, which means that you may not earn full credit if your assignment is incomplete, inaccurate, or poorly prepared.
Your choices for earning reading points are listed below. You may complete both group one assignments and one group two assignment per book. Only one group two assignment can be completed per book.
Group One:
· Pass an AR test on your reading level with an 80% or better = 10 points
· Have your bookmark signed for 15 minutes of silent reading time = 5 points / signature (full bookmark = 50 points)
Group Two:
· Complete a book project from the list of options given by your teacher = 50 points possible (projects cannot be repeated during the semester). Choices include newspaper, mobile, a bookseller's day, a collage, or a collection box.
· Complete a clue cube about your book = 15 points possible
· Traditional report using the book report template = 35 points possible
· Write a review of your book using the book review template = 10 points
· Complete a graphic organizer about your book (story building blocks or story map) = 5 points
